Portland - 10-20-09
ACOUSTIC SHOW: TIGARD, OR
my day started by getting up at 7am to finish a project. I then had to borrow supplies from my friend as I didn't have enough to finish it... I then packed everything in my car and went to school to finish it. I then picked my friend Vathani up and we booked it up to Portland for Honor Society's acoustic show in Tigard, at Haggans. I go there towards the end of Two Rebels. I was able to catch See You In The Dark. I was so excited and giddy coming out of the car. I raced to put on my jacket and hat and grab my camera! I race over to the gents. I wanna say there maybe 15 people there. There were the cutest older couples standing there listening to the gents play! A guy behind me, who was maybe 40 or something, asked who they were and said it was good to hear good music... haha
Anyways after honor rolling and filming at the same time... the gents hung out with us for awhile. We got to chat and take pictures. First up for me was Jason, I mentioned that I hope their luggage wasn't lost as they had flown from LA... Jason said that the flight that summer was a long flight with a change of flights in Atlanta and such. I then asked how the video shoot was... He said it was great and that it is more sophisticated and that they filmed in front of trains, that there were hidden things in it like the album, and had a "love interest" but that he didn't want to give too much away... I asked him "How their trip today was so far..." Which didn't make any sense, he laughed and said it was great! We chatted about how beautiful it is in the NW in the fall. Jason said it reminded him of home. I mentioned how it is really colorful here with all the leave colors on the trees. He and Andrew agreed that it really is beautiful here and that they are enjoying seeing it. I then got an intro video from him for JRoC and Andrew came over and joined in on the video! And got a picture with him!
Next up for me was Alex. He was so freaking cute! Kat was talking to us as well. Somehow we ended up talking about Vegas, I was like yea "you were the only smart one wearing shorts..." He said that it wasn't that he was the smartest one it was that their luggage was lost... He then said that he had blue suede boots that he couldn't fit in his backpack for the flight and that he ended up wearing them to the show.... and that it was really hot! I got a picture with him... he has his "I know I'm sexy..." face on haha...
Next up was Andrew... He is adorable as well, no duh. Um, we talked about random things including how his jacket was very linty. He said that he really needed a lint roller. I said no kidding, look at my jacket! I said two things that everyone should have, lint roller and iron, I don't have. He said no! you need to get a steamer, those are amazing! I said I will have to get one soon! I then got a picture with him!
Lastly, I talked to our resident pocket rockstar, Mike! He seemed a little off to me... I don't know if it was just traveling or what, but he seemed tired. I asked him how the trip was so far, how he is enjoying Oregon. He said it was great being back! He seemed like he was anti-talking... anyways. I wandered around and chatted with them all and I overhear Andy asking Mike if he has a lint roller! i walk over and say Andy, do you want me to bring you a lint roller tonight? He says, no you really don't have too! haha...
Each one asked if I was coming to the show that night... I said of course and that I was road-tripping it to Seattle, Boise, and SLC as well. They were all amazed and thought it was awesome that we were doing that! They were all so thankful!
After that Kat gathered the guys for group shots! I got a group shot with the gents.... it was great except that I had to "hunch over" since Mike and Jay both put their arms around me... Then after other people went, we asked if our group could all get in a shot with the gents. So Erin and I give Kat our camera's... we take two "funny" shots. The first one Jay was pointing over the Alex and I and Andy made the funniest face EVER! The second one, even better. Alex was talking to Kat about what he should do... she said Projectile Vomit! So I laugh and right after he pretends to do that... and i point at him and Kat takes the picture... I love them they are amazing! They then go get some food inside and we all thank them for coming out and tell em we will see them that night!

After that we all head to the Venue. It was about 1:30. There was a Fred Meyer's across the street so we park there and go in to get some food. Megan went and got our spots in line at the Hawthorne. We hangout for awhile and eat our food. We were like the 3rd group in line. Girls had gotten there really early and had sleeping bags and stuff! Awesome... After eating, I decided to go back to Fredy Meyer and change and do my makeup. I took forever doing that, but oh well! Then we hang out for awhile in line... We hear that the Gents bus was there and some girls freak out and be all teeny... gahh. So Reneta and I walk over to check it out. GIrls are just standing there on the corner pointing. We don't want a part in it, we aren't crazy fan girls... so we turn around and leave and get back in line... There was a bit of line drama, its ok we were the bigger people... sad how that is sometimes. We are over it... we handled ourselves... HA!
A bit later, we can hear the Gents doing soundcheck inside while we are at the bar. We head back out and then more people have to go inside. I guess when they were in there the guys working at the bar said we could get early entry if there were only a few of us in the bar. So, Erin comes back out and gets me. I grab all my stuff and go into the bar to hangout for the last bit of time. I get a Moretto Sour with Erin... they were only TWO BUCKS! Cheapest Sour I have ever gotten. We sit down with our first drinks, that is Candace, Erin, Reneta, and Candace's Mom. We see a bar guy come from the direction of the stage with empty cups.. we all think they were from the gents and momentarilly consider asking if we can bring them their next drinks... haha. So yeah We hang out and I get two more Sours... they were amazing. Candace's mom had a tequila shot... you know what tequila does! haha... anyways. then around the time doors open they let us in. All 7 of us got to enter first and then they opened the doors. Candace went in first and Erin and I next...we got our fan club writst bands and ran into the stage area to get ur spots! I was dead center... almost. The first person to the left of Mike. I then went over to Merch and bought the album to get the other meet and greet as Candace and everyone were saving our spots!
THE SHOW
So we hang out and the place fills up a bit... there weren't THAT many people there... I would say 100-150 TOPS! It was legit. I LOVED my spot except I didn't see much of our boy Alex! :) tear... but we hang out and take pics and chat and get pumped up. Esmee comes out for her set... she is so gorgeous and has an amazing voice! I love her songs... Outta Here, her single, is by far my fave song of hers! Matty, her bass player is so animated! He rocked it! Actually, they all rocked it! She had a ton of stage presence! Sadly the lighting and sound wasn't THAT GREAT! It was alright... but yeah. She sang to me a few times RIGHT AT ME IN MY FACE and held my hand a bit haha...After her and her 3 piece band were done, the stage dudes came out and set up for Honor Society. Pete, who is traveling with them and is a stage hand person got lots of cat calls from everyone! Everyone was yelling at him! He put a setlist RIGHT in front of me and another stage hand, I think his name was Brett... he put all of the picks on the mic stands... no joke I could have jumped and grabbed one of Mike's... lol. ANYWAYS... so then the gents come out! They start and the place goes NUTS! I mean, the headliner is there, no shit they go nuts! They start with Full Moon Crazy, no joke... best tune to start with LOVE IT! They rocked it, and sounded REALLY good! The rest of the setlist was Sing For You, Two Rebels, Where are you now, my own way (duet with Esmee Denters), here comes trouble, don't close the book (Alex and Andy come over to Jason and they all talk and stuff), why didn't i, nobody has to know (BOUNCE!), over you, and lastly see you in the dark.
At some point during Don't Close the Book Alex came over and went to touch hands but he held on to mine... he then grabbed other people's hands but somehow came back to me and held my hand again... lol. I called dibs on the setlist at the beginning of the show and everyone was chill about it... eep :). I grabbed 3 picks total that night, a Mike one for the awesome girl next to me as well as Mike and Jay picks for myself :)... The funniest thing of the night was of Mike gyrating in front of Candace's moms face and her pulling a dollar bill out of her bra and waving it in his face. OH and he didn't remember it at the meet and greet and was even a bit embarrassed... hehe!
After the show ended Leanna got a drumstick from Alex. She made a sign asking him for one and he handed one right to her! We both grabbed it and once I realized it was for her, I let go.

After that we separated into 2 sections for the Fan Club meet and greet and then Merch one. Erin and i are just hanging out and Kat tells us to for a line by the door... so we are walking over there slowly... people are running to get in line, Honestly i would rather be at the end, it means more time to say hi and such... Anyways... so Erin and I hang out in line for awhile, there are only a few people after us. We get up there and give them all hugs and say thanks for a great show. I get in the middle, like always. I then say that I will be seeing them the next night and they are all like awesome! I say were all road-tripping it to Seattle, Boise, and SLC.

I then go and get in line for the Merch meet and greet. Erin and I just hangout in the back away from the mob of people around their table. The Merch meet and greet was only a signing but thats ok! We were towards the end of the line. In the meantime Esmee was at the table signing poster and taking pictures. I went up to her and asked if I could get a picture. She signed a poster for me and put my name up. I told her that I loved her performance and that I love her youtube video's. She asked me which was my fave, I said I liked them all. I really don't have a favortite. I told her that my fave song of hers is Outta Here and that she rocked it. I then got the picture with her and told her that I would see her the next night in Seattle. She said that was awesome and that she would see me later. So we stood in line for a little while longer and watched some mom make a damn fool of herself... Anyways...
MERCH M&G
Finally I get up to the table it goes Alex, Jason, Mike, and Andy. I get to Alex and say HAND HUGS! I put up my right hand and so does he.... FAIL... we fail at the hand hugs, thanks love. I tell them that I havent done hand hugs yet... that this is my first time. Jason and Mike looking on laugh at me. I ask him if he will sign my setlist! He does. I then put my album booklet on the table and ask him to sign it. Finally I ask if he will sign my ticket. He says of course. I move on to Jason, we do our hand hug, we do it right! I say thanks for a great show and tell him I will see them the next night. He says thats awesome. He signs my things and I say, sorry for so many things to get signed! I snatched that setlist up and know it's getting late. He says its totally ok. I say thanks and I move on to Mike, we do a great hand hug and I say it was great for my first one with him. He smiles and sings my things. He says see you in Seattle! I get to Andrew, he signs my album booklet and setlist and I grab it all up. He then says that he didn't sign the ticket! I said oh I'm sorry I missed you! He said I always miss you too! AWE! I then give him a hand hug (seriously he does great hand hugs!) and say I will be in Seattle. He says thats great and to have a good trip up.
We then leave and walk to our cars. Erin and Renata had a gift to give the boys and Kat said to meet her outside the show. We all move our cars closer and hangout by our cars that are right next to Silverado (their tour bus).... and wait for Kat. She comes out and sadly says their tour manager said they can't take the gift... sad. She continues to hang out with us outside for a good 20 minutes or so. We talk about the crazy mom and tons of other things. She tells us the gents had a friend on board the bus... and I decide to pull out my tea that I had brought them. It was so funny, we were standing in a dark parking lot and bring tea in zip lock baggies out of my purse and hand them to Kat... I say no seriously, it's tea, smell it. She does, and I tell her they are my 2 fave kinds and ask if she can give it to the gents. She says of course she will! So after chatting for a bit more she says that she should get going. She said she has homework to do. We asked what she had to do, she said Economics. She said she was taking online classes. I told the story that i had from Econ in college... saying that our class was so bad that when final grades came out i originally had an F but that we all were so bad that the curve made me get a C. She gets her call to leave so she leavs and we tell her thanks for chatting and that we will see her tomorrow. The gent's couldn't come out due to being on the bus with a friend and fans still hanging outside the bus :( sad... so we all decide to take off...
Vathani and I head to Katy's to stay the night. We got lost getting there... but we finally do get there and pass out! The next morning we wake up at 5:30 so that I can drop Vathani off at the bus stop.... our directions got us lost... so we go to some hotel in downtown Portland and he tells us where to go... well he didn't know... so we got lost again! UGH. So Vathani gets out at some station place and asks a homeless person where it is... he tells us to go until we see a clock... and we will be there... haha. We got there JUST IN TIME! the 2 last ppl were boarding and they were gonna close it down! Thank god! I go back to Katy's and pack my stuff and sleep for a bit before Erin came and picked me up!
